Our committee formed to create a Walldogs mural event for Streator's Sesquicentennial celebration. Work began organizing logistics, creating fundraising goals and planning special events to make our event a success for the community.
This is the year we put our plans into action. With events such as the upcoming Food Truck Festival, Barktoberfest and our New Year's Eve party, we will work to develop community awareness and support and raise funds. We are actively fundraising toward a goal of $120,000 to bring this awe-inspiring event to Streator's downtown.
In conjunction with the celebration of Streator's Sesquicentennial, the Walldogs will take over the entire town for 5 days adding 10-15 murals to our downtown depicting our community's rich historical heritage.
Selling over 80 tickets for our inaugural event, our NYE party is quickly becoming our community's premiere evening celebration to see in the new year. We provide the music, small bites, party games, champagne toast and photo ops - you provide the dance moves!
The Streator Walldogs Food Truck Festival will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 12pm to 7pm on the 200 block of Hickory Street, south of Streator City Park, Streator, Illinois. This event will feature live music, craft beers, and some of the best gourmet food truck food offered in the Illinois Valley.
October is your chance to run with the dogs (literally). 2017 marks the second year of our dog-friendly party at Streator's Marilla Park. Barktoberfest features photo ops, raffles, dog games, K-9 police demonstrations, food, and our Halloween costume contest. Watch this space for more info this Fall.
From becoming a friend of the Walldogs to sponsoring an entire mural, every dollar is valuable to this effort.
Open your home and welcome an artist and family to stay with you during the mural festival.
